Based on a true story, this film tells the story of Kenneth Waters and his sister Betty Anne Waters. Kenny is convicted of a murder that he did not commit. His sister begins the long and tiresome process of proving his innocence. She must go to law school and pass the bar to become a lawyer. Betty Anne spends over fourteen years of her life trying to prove that her brother is not a murder. When she finds DNA evidence that could prove Kenny's innocence, Kenny tries to convince Betty Anne that he did commit the murders. Betty Anne knows her brother better.
